Actually, it is already here with a horrible vengeance! While we wait out the biting storms, why not enjoy our time indoors by learning some historic hand embroidery with a fantasy twist! Join us for a very special, day-long retreat!

After spending too much time drooling over the extraordinary embroidery work that the talented artist Michele Carragher  created for the costumes on the TV show Game of Thrones, I have decided that I simply must offer a class on 3-D embroidery. It is so necessary! The class will feature my original design loosely inspired by the Game of Thrones aesthetic. Students will learn authentic, historic 17th century embroidery techniques and will be taught to apply them to create a fantasy work of art that can then later be applied to clothing or a home decor item (framed art? wooden jewelry box? pillow? Your choice!). The photos displayed show a portion of the actual design we will working in class.

No previous embroidery experience is needed, but an open attitude and patience is useful. These techniques will prove invaluable to any fashion designer, costumer, fiber artist, quilter, milliner, jewelry designer, or crafty dabbler!
