Description

The embroidery above is a historic example of Or Nuè, or shaded gold, a stunning, obscure medieval embroidery technique which is rarely taught. In our workshop, we will be working a design in this historic technique which will then be able to be mounted into a cameo-type pendant frame to create a wearable piece of art jewelry. The rich, shimmering silk threads will offer the perfect contrast to the gold thread. The price of the class is $155 and will include all materials necessary for learning the technique- gold thread, high quality French silk thread, needles, the ground fabric pre-prepared with the design, and the metal pendant frame. While no particular experience is necessary, students who are patient and comfortable working in a small scale will experience the most success with Or Nuè.

The only things students need to bring are tweezers and small sharp scissors.

The class will be held Saturday September 8th 2018 from 1-4pm in the beautiful, historic district of Olde Towne East, in Columbus, Ohio. We will be taking a limited number of students for this rare opportunity and we encourage you to register as soon as possible in order to ensure your enrollment. Your payment reserves your space in the class. Due to the specialty nature of the class and it’s materials, we regret that we cannot accept cancellations or give refunds. In the event of illness or other emergency, store credit may be issued for a future class.
