Congratulations to Artist Michol McQueen-Childress!

Congratulations to my new student Michol Childress for being a recipient of the Greater Columbus Arts Council ‘s Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson Professional Development & Research grant and Supply Grant!

Michol, is a very gifted, established painter who will be learning embroidery techniques to add to her 2-D paintings. This grant from the Greater Columbus Arts Council has allowed us to create a custom curriculum path tailored to Michol’s needs for her work. Over the course of several months, we plan to explore the techniques of Or Nué, Silk Shading, Stumpwork, and Tambour work. I look forward to sharing the results of our private lessons and I’m excited to see how Michol will adopt the techniques to suit her work and perspective as an artist! You can check out her work here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/42018458530

If you are a Columbus based artist, and are interested in taking my classes for free, please visit the GCAC’s site for further info on grant opportunities: https://www.gcac.org/grants-services/guidelines/

I can be contacted to arrange a custom, private lesson track here: sales (at) oldetownebead (dot) com
